Sour Cream Banana Cake
This is a favorite at any family gathering. This recipe is from my step-mom, Jeanne Paulson. She is another fabulous cook. She used to decorate cakes a few years back. She is meticulous and does an amazing job. You will love this.
- 1/4 cup butter, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup bananas, mashed
- 3 whole eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 2 cups flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup sour cream
Cream Cheese Frosting
- 1/2 cup butter, softened
- 1 8oz. cube cream cheese, room temperature
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 dash salt
- 3-4 cups powdered sugar
Preheat oven to 325*. Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and bananas. Mix. Add remaining ingredients and mix until well-incorporated. Pour into a greased 9×13 inch pan. Bake for 35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Frost with cream cheese frosting.
To Make Frosting
Cream butter and cream cheese together until smooth and creamy. Add vanilla, salt and powdered sugar and beat until light and fluffy.
