Mama King's Outback Salmon w/sauce

This is the very best salmon recipe out there!  The seasonings are perfect.  I have never had one bad experience in making this—even when I’ve cooked it too long.  The sauce pairs perfectly with the salmon.  Great with our Sizzler rice and some broccoli.  One of my favorite dishes.

  • 3 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 Tablespoon prepared white horseradish sauce
  • 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 1 inch thick salmon fillets or steaks (I like to buy the whole fish steak)

Dipping Sauce

  • 3/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tablespoon prepared white horseradish sauce
  • 2 Tablespoon basil
  • 1 Tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  1. Whisk together oil, horseradish, soy sauce, garlic, salt and pepper in a small bowl.  Brush over both sides of salmon.  Set aside.  Bring grill to a medium-high heat.  Spray with non-stick cooking spray.  Grill salmon for about 5-10 minutes on each side or until center is done.  Serve with the dipping sauce.

  2. Dipping Sauce:  (This does not really taste that great on it’s own, but when you pair it with the salmon….amazing and perfect).  Mix all the ingredients together with a whisk.  Refrigerate.  This is best if made at least four hours in advance so the flavors can blend….however, I usually just make it before I start the other things and it tastes great.
