Twisted Breadsticks
- 3 Cups warm water
- 2 Tbs yeast
- 2 Tbs sugar
- 1 tsp salt
- 6-7 cups flour
Combine sugar, yeast, and water. Let stand 5 minutes. Add remaining ingredients and combine until dough forms. Mix until dough pulls away from sides of bowl or mixer for about six minutes. Let dough rest for about 10 minutes. Pull off sections of dough about the size of baseballs. Spray counter top with non-stick spray. Roll into ropes about 18 inches long. With your palms, pull the left side toward you and push the right side away from you, twisting the dough. Lift by the ends and the dough should twist together into a breadstick. Place breadsticks on pan. Let rise 10 minutes. Bake at 425 for 12-15 minutes or until desired color is reached. Brush with breadstick glaze as soon as they come out of the oven.
Garlic Dill Butter Glaze
6 tbs melted butter
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp dill weed
1/4 tsp Italian seasoning
Mix all ingredients well and brush on top of hot breadsticks.
