- 1 onion diced
- 3 (15 ounce) cans Ranch Style Beans (black label) I have also used western beans and it works out great.
- 2 (8 ounce) cans tomato sauce
- 1 (15 ounce) can full of water (from the bean can)
- 1/2 cup honey bbq sauce (or as desired)
- 1 Tablespoon chili powder
Instructions
Instructions
- In a large pot, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess grease.Add the ranch-style beans, tomato sauce, water, honey BBQ sauce, and chili powder. Stir to combine.Bring to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for about 45 minutes, stirring occasionally.Taste and adjust seasoning if needed. Serve warm with shredded cheese, cornbread, or your favorite toppings.
Notes
- This chili is easy to adjust — add more chili powder for extra heat or a splash of BBQ sauce for more sweetness.Ranch-style beans give this chili great flavor, but western-style beans also work well.Leftovers reheat beautifully and taste even better the next day.
