Easy Homemade Caramels
Homemade caramels are one of my weaknesses. I love this recipe. It is so simple to make and tastes "oh, so amazing"!!! Enjoy
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 2 cubes salted butter ((1 cup))
- 2 cups brown sugar
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk
Combine corn syrup, butter, brown sugar and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Stir CONSTANTLY for 20 minutes or until temperature is 230-250 degrees (depending on how hard you want your caramel. Pour into a buttered oblong pan. Cut into squares when cool and wrap in wax paper, if desired.
I usually don't use a thermometer. Every time I have ever made these, they come out perfect if I stick with the 20 minute boiling time.
