Quick & Easy One Hour Yeast Dinner Rolls

I found this recipe quite a few years ago.  I posted it on Pinterest and since then, there have been many many people who have made these.  This is an awesome recipe.  I have to say, though, do NOT use this for a loaf of bread.  Best as rolls and one of my favorites.

  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup oil
  • 2 Tablespoon yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 whole egg, beaten
  • 3-1/3 cups flour
  1. In a large mixing bowl, mix water, sugar, oil and yeast together.  Allow to sit for about 15 minutes until mixture is bubbly.  This tells you the yeast is working.  **Make sure the water is not too hot.  This can destroy the yeast.

  2. Stir in the salt and beaten egg.  Gradually add the flour.  Dough will be slightly sticky, but will be better as you knead it.  Add more flour if needed until manageable.  Let the dough rest in the bowl while you prepare the pan, etc.  You may cover with a warm damp towel if desired.

  3. Spray 9×13 pan with cooking spray.  Form dough into desired roll sizes.  Place the balls so they don’t touch in greased cookie sheet.  Normally, I am able to divide this into 20 balls.  Let rise for 20 more minutes.  Preheat oven to 375* and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown.  My favorite is to eat right out of the oven with fresh butter.
