Homestyle Cookies & Cream Cookies

These are super easy to make. I love cookies made with cake mix.  This would be super yummy made with the triple chocolate fudge cake mix.  

Ingredients

  • 1 box devil's food cake mix
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 1/2 cup shortening

Frosting/Middle

  • 4 oz cream cheese, room temp
  • 2 Tablespoon butter, room temp
  • 4-1/2 cups powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350*.  Mix eggs and cake mix.  Add in the shortening and mix well.  Roll into very small balls.  (I use my scoop that is half-size of cookie scoop).  Bake for 10 minutes.  Cool.
  • Frosting:  Cream together the cream cheese and butter until smooth and creamy.  Add powdered sugar and beat until smooth.  I like to use a piping bag to put frosting on cookie.  You can use just about any cake mix for this recipe for a variety.  Try strawberry for strawberries & cream.  The variations are limitless.
