Quick & Easy One Hour Yeast Dinner Rolls
Ingredients
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/3 cup oil
- 2 Tablespoon yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 large egg beaten
- 3-1/3 cups all-purpose flour
Instructions
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the warm water, sugar, oil, and yeast. Stir gently and let sit until the mixture becomes bubbly and foamy.Stir in the beaten egg. Gradually add the salt and flour, mixing until a soft dough forms. The dough will be slightly sticky at first but should become manageable as flour is incorporated.Knead the dough briefly until smooth. Cover and allow it to rest while you prepare the pan, about 5 minutes.Lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan. Divide the dough into evenly sized balls (about 20 rolls) and place them into the prepared pan.Cover and let the rolls rise for 20 minutes.Preheat the oven to 375°F. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the rolls are lightly golden on top.Remove from the oven and serve warm. Brush with butter if desired.
Notes
- Water should be warm, not hot, to avoid killing the yeast. This dough works best for rolls and is not recommended for baking as a loaf.Rolls are best served fresh but can be reheated gently if needed.Brushing the tops with butter immediately after baking adds softness and flavor.
