A quick chocolate ganache frosting made with chocolate chips, cream, and powdered sugar. Smooth, glossy, and perfect for spreading or pouring over cakes.

  • 1 cup chocolate chips, milk or semi
  • 6 Tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1-1/2 cup powdered sugar

  • Place the chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl or small saucepan.
    Heat gently until the chocolate is melted, stirring until completely smooth.
    Gradually stir in the powdered sugar until fully incorporated and glossy.
    Pour or spread over the prepared cake while slightly warm, or allow to cool slightly for a thicker frosting.

Notes

  • This ganache thickens as it cools. For a pourable finish, use while warm; for a spreadable frosting, allow it to cool slightly before applying.
    If the frosting becomes too thick, gently rewarm and stir until smooth.
    Works well on sheet cakes, layered cakes, cupcakes, or brownies.
    For a darker chocolate flavor, use semi-sweet chocolate chips; for a sweeter finish, use milk chocolate.
