Mama King's Homestyle Chicken Noodle Soup
This is such a simple and versatile recipe to make that I almost didn't include it in my recipes, but knew my kids would want this. There is nothing like a little homemade chicken soup when you are sick or just wanting some comfort food. Enjoy!
- 2-48oz containers chicken broth
- 5 whole carrots (peeled and sliced)
- 2 cups potatoes (peeled and diced)
- 1 whole green pepper (minced)
- 5 stalks celery (washed and sliced)
- 1 cup cooked chicken or turkey (can use canned chicken if desired)
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning
- 1/4 cup dry minced onion (or use fresh if desired)
- 1 pkg dry egg noodles (or frozen)
- salt and pepper (to taste)
-
Combine all ingredients, except noodles and meat. Bring to a boil. Boil until vegetables are soft and tender. Add meat and noodles and boil until noodles are done. That's about it. Super simple.

You may also want to add other vegetables or rice. My daughter, Haley, has taken broccoli and minced it before adding, to try and sneak a little more vege in her soup without kids noticing. 🙂
