Anna's Peanut Butter Fingers

I have two different recipes for these; Anna’s and my Grandma Parry’s.  Both of them are wonderful and popular family favorite at any party.  Anna makes the very best desserts.  You will love these.

  • 1 cup margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2/3 cup peanut butter
  • 2 whole eggs
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups quick oats

Frosting layers

  • 2 cups chocolate chips
  • 1-1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup milk
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  1. Preheat oven to 375*.  Grease a 10×15 baking sheet.  Set aside.  In a mixing bowl, cream margarine, sugar, brown sugar and peanut butter.  Add eggs and mix. Mix in remaining flour, soda, salt and oatmeal.  Press into bottom of cooking sheet.  Bake for 10 minutes.

  2. Immediately spread chocolate chips over cooked mixture.  Allow it to sit for a minute while the chocolate chips melt.  Spread with a rubber spatula.  Let sit until chocolate hardens.

  3. Prepare frosting.  Spread over hardened chocolate.  Keep covered to store.
