Apple Crisp

This is a warm and hearty comfort dessert.  Can also be made with canned apple filling to make it even easier.  I like to double my topping.  Recipe shown has been made with double topping.

  • 4 cups apples, sliced or diced
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 2 Tablespoon melted butter or margarine


  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup quick oatmeal
  • 1/8 teaspoon soda
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  1. Preheat oven to 350*.  Mix apples, brown sugar, cinnamon and melted butter together.  Line 9×13 baking dish sprayed with non-stick spray with mixture.  Mix topping ingredients together until a crumb type mixture is created.  Sprinkle over top of apple mixture, evenly.  Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.  Serve hot with ice cream and caramel topping.
